SUMMARIZE & SAVE THIS CONTENT ON
This dill pickle dressing is the perfect dressing for those who love dill pickles, and even those who don't. I snuck some cottage cheese in there to make it a higher protein dressing. I like to make a Caesar-like salad and use romaine lettuce as a base with shaved parmesan cheese and homemade croutons.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- High protein: with the addition of cottage cheese, this dressing has about 15g of protein! I love adding cottage cheese into recipes to bump up the protein content. If you want more recipes that use cottage cheese, try my meal prep high protein breakfast bake, or my high protein overnight oats.
- Versatile: since this dressing is a good source of protein, and is really tasty, you can use it as a salad dressing but also as a dip for veggies, or spread in a wrap or sandwich!
Ingredients You'll Need
Full ingredient measurements & instructions are in the recipe card below.

- Cottage cheese: this adds creaminess and some protein.
- Dill pickles & pickle juice: acts as a liquid but also adds more pickle flavour. You want to use dill pickles rather than another type of pickle.
- Fresh dill: adds lots of freshness!
Additions & Substitutions
- Make it vegan: I use vegan mayo for this recipe, but obviously the cottage cheese is not vegan. You could try a dairy-free plain yogurt to replace the cottage cheese, or use 1 cup of vegan mayo instead.
- Mayo free: if you don't like mayo, or you don't want to use mayo, you could try using plain greek yogurt instead, or use 1 cup of cottage cheese. I haven't tried either of these substitutions, but I imagine they would work. You may need to use less pickle juice.
How to Make Dill Pickle Dressing

- Step 1: Add all ingredients to a blender.

- Step 2: Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust.
Dill Pickle Dressing FAQs
Dill pickle dressing creamy dressing made with dill pickles, pickle juice, fresh dill, mayonnaise, and cottage cheese. I mostly use it as a salad dressing, but it's also delicious as a dip for veggies, or as a spread in a sandwich or wrap.
Store it in an airtight container or jar in the fridge for up to 5 days. Shake or stir before using, as it may separate slightly over time.
For a thicker consistency, add more mayonnaise or cottage cheese. To thin it out, add more pickle juice or water until it reaches your desired texture.
Classic dill pickles are the best type to use. Sweet pickles will really change the taste of this dressing and aren't recommended.
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Taste and add anything you think it needs, and then add to an air tight container.
