Rosemary Simple Syrup FAQs

What is rosemary simple syrup?

Rosemary simple syrup is a sweet liquid made by simmering sugar, water, and fresh rosemary. It’s often used to flavour cocktails, mocktails, desserts, and beverages.

How long does rosemary simple syrup last?

It should last a couple weeks if stored in an air-tight container in the fridge.

Can I make rosemary simple syrup without fresh rosemary?

Yes, dried rosemary can be used, though the flavour will be slightly less vibrant. Reduce the amount slightly, as dried herbs are more concentrated.

How sweet is rosemary simple syrup?

It’s as sweet as traditional simple syrup, but with an aromatic herbal note from the rosemary. Adjust sugar-to-water ratio for a sweeter or lighter syrup.

Can I freeze rosemary simple syrup?

Yes, pour it into an ice cube tray or airtight container and freeze for long-term storage. Thaw before use.
