This grapefruit simple syrup recipe is an elevated take on basic simple syrup. It adds a subtle flavour of grapefruit, and will be the perfect addition to any cocktail or mocktail recipe. Use this recipe to make my Grapefruit Radler Recipe.

What you’ll need to make this grapefruit simple syrup recipe

You’ll need the following to make this:

  • White sugar: you’ll need one cup. A classic simple syrup is equals parts sugar and water.
  • Water: you’ll also need a cup of water.
  • Grapefruit: I used two large slices from the middle of the grapefruit.
  • Air tight container: this is what you’ll store your simple syrup in.

Combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan, add grapefruit slices, bring to a simmer until sugar dissolves, then cool and strain.

Grapefruit Simple Syrup

This grapefruit simple syrup adds the perfect citrusy addition to any mocktail or cocktail.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 slices grapefruit choose middle slices

Instructions
 

  • In a small pot, add sugar, water and grapefruit slices.
  • Bring to a simmer. Use a spatula to gently stir and ensuring all sugar is dissolved.
  • Remove from heat. Cover and let sit for at least one hour.
  • Once cooled, transfer to a well sealed container and place in the fridge. Keep the grapefruit slices in overnight.
  • Remove the grapefruit slices after about 12-24 hours. Scrape off all the syrup that is coating them.
  • Keep in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
