This spicy pineapple mocktail is a fun drink to make this summer. I’m not going to lie, it does have a kick to it, but as someone who doesn’t tolerate spice well, I still like it! I’ve added some ways to make it less spicy (and how to turn it into a cocktail) below.

What you’ll need to make this spicy pineapple mocktail
You’ll need the following to make this drink:
- Honey or maple syrup: I used maple syrup because it’s all I had, but I think honey would be better.
- Tajin: a requirement! It’s a little spicy, but it’s balanced nicely with the sweetness of the honey or syrup
- Pineapple juice
- Lime juice: you’ll need juice from about 1/2 a lime
- Spicy pineapple soda: The Great Gentleman is the only brand that I’ve used, but if you can find another brand that has something similar, you can try that
- Ice: a must!
Substitutions
- Make it a cocktail: if you’d prefer to make this a cocktail, you can reduce some of the Spicy Pineapple soda and add alcohol (tequila would give it margarita vibes).
- Less spicy: if you really don’t like spice, then you can remove the Tajin and use salt like you would a margarita. The Spicy Pineapple soda is a crucial ingredient, but you could use less and add some sparkling water.
Spicy Pineapple Mocktail FAQs
I haven’t tried it, but I imagine it would work well. Try blending the pineapple juice and lime juice with ice until you get a slushy-like consistency, then transfer to a glass and top with the spicy pineapple soda.
Serve over ice in a highball or cocktail glass. It’s perfect for parties, brunch, or a refreshing summer drink.
I suggest pineapple wedges, lime wheel, or a slice of jalapeno.
