This Blueberry Lavender Mocktail has been by go-to summer drink every blueberry season! It’s actually a blueberry lavender lemonade, so it definitely has some summer vibes to it! I also made a similar drink for a friend’s baby shower a couple years ago, and everyone loved it!

You will need to make simple syrup for this drink. If you don’t know how, check out my rosemary simple syrup recipe. Instead of fresh rosemary, add 2 Tbsp of dried culinary lavender.

What you’ll need to make this blueberry lavender mocktail

You’ll need the following to make this drink:

  • Lavender simple syrup: you can find a recipe for simple syrup here. It’s a rosemary simple syrup, so replace the rosemary with 2 Tbsp of dried culinary lavender (I got mine from Bulk Barn). You want your syrup to be cool, or at least room temperature. So I suggest making your simple syrup at least a couple hours before you need it.
  • Lemon juice: freshly squeezed is preferred. This drink has lemonade vibes, so the lemon juice is important.
  • Sparking water: this adds some bubbles to the drink. If you don’t need to make it a mocktail, you can replace with champagne or sparkling wine. But keep it neutral flavoured, since you want the flavour of the blueberries and lavender to shine.
  • Fresh blueberries: blueberry season is at the end of July and into early August in Ontario. We have some blueberry plants on our property and I’m always looking for creative ways to use the ones that aren’t great for eating. The blueberries in this drink get muddled (or smashed with a fork) to release their colour and flavour.

Substitutions

  • Make it a cocktail: if you’d prefer to make this a cocktail, simply replace the sparking water with Prosecco or another sparking wine. Or you could add vodka or gin.
