This grapefruit radler recipe might be the drink of the summer. A traditional radler is a light lager mixed with a citrus juice, such as lemonade or grapefruit juice. This recipe is a take on classic radler, with the addition of a fun fancy little twist: grapefruit simple syrup.

What you’ll need to make this grapefruit radler recipe

You’ll need the following to make this drink:

  • Light lager: you can use any light lager. Keep in mind I’m not a big fan of beer, but my preferred choices are Corona, Sol, or Blue Moon (which is a wheat beer, but is light and has orange notes, so it works well).
  • Grapefruit juice: I prefer freshly squeezed juice. And you can use the rest of the fruit (and the rind) to make the simple syrup.
  • Grapefruit simple syrup: find my recipe here.
  • Ice: helps make this drink extra refreshing

Additions & Substitutions for this grapefruit radler recipe

  • Make it a mocktail: there are lots of non-alcoholic beers on the market. While I haven’t tried it, I imagine using an non-alcoholic beer would taste exactly the same.
  • Add grapefruit slices: it might not add a lot of additional flavour, but adding a slice as a garnish will look really nice.
